Begin on an amazing journey through Harrison’s Cave, Barbados’ greatest geological wonder. This underground limestone cave was discovered back in the 18th century and finally successfully explored in 1974 by Ole Sorensen and Barbadians Allison Thornhill and Tony Mason who rediscovered and mapped the cave. Due to this amazing expedition, the Barbados government was finally able to develop the cave into the breathtaking attraction we see today. Hop on board the electric trams and cruise 2.3 kilometres underground with the knowledgeable and charming guides. As you navigate the historic cave, admire the natural thousand year old stalactites and stalagmites in their interesting and unusual formations, the natural pools and fresh water waterfalls and streams.
Then it’s off to the Rum Tour to experience Barbados’ most prized possession, Mount Gay Rum. Believed to be the oldest rum in the world, Mount Gay, formerly known as ‘Kill-Devil’, was established in 1703 right here on this tiny island. Explore the secrets behind this rum as you tour the distillery learning of their expert techniques honed and crafted over a number of years and taste the deliciously rich sugar cane flavour in this exquisite liquor.
